Submissions to the Office of Graduate Studies

All applicants are requested to submit a University of Nebraska-Lincoln Graduate Application, two (2) offical transcripts, Graduate Record Examination scores and an Application Fee to the UNL Office of Graduate Studies, 1100 Seaton Hall, P. O. Box 880619, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Lincoln, NE 68588-0619. International applicants (non-U.S. citizens) must also submit a completed Financial Resource Certification form

Offical Transcripts

Two (2) official transcripts from each college or university attended. (Transcripts are not needed from the following institutions: the University of Nebraska at Kearney, the University of Nebraska at Omaha, or the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.)

Graduate Record Examination Scores

The most recent scores from either the paper-and-pencil form or the computer-delivered linear form of the Graduate Record Examination should be sent to either the Community and Regional Planning Program or the UNL Office of Graduate Studies. Whereas the Program does not specify a minimum score that must be achieved for admission to the MCRP degree program, the score is used by the faculty for academic advising to remedy any apparent academic deficiencies. Information about sites offering the GRE can be obtained from the Graduate Record Examination, Educational Testing Service, P.O. Box 6000, Princeton, NJ 08541-6000, telephone 609-921-9000. Persons living in the United States should provide their telephone number when writing for information from Education Testing Service (ETS). Four to six weeks should be allowed for written responses from ETS. GRE information is available at the Office of Student Judicial Affairs, 125 Canfield Administration Building, telephone 402-472-2021, on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus .

Application fee

An application fee of US $45 is required.

Financial Resource Certification - Applicable ONLY to International Applicants

International applicants (non-U.S. citizens) must submit a completed Financial Resource Certification form , which is included with the Graduate Studies Admissions Guide, to the Office of Graduate Studies. Students whose native language is not English must furnish current (within the past two years) TOEFL scores for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) administered by the Educational Testing Service (ETS) or the Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB) administered by the University of Michigan. Students who have graduated from an American college or university do not need to submit a TOEFL or other English examination score. The Community and Regional Planning Program requires a minimum TOEFL score of 550. International students who secure a lower TOEFL score may be required to take a remedial course in English as a foreign language prior to joining the program.
